MoTeC UTC (USB to CAN Adapter) Installation Notes
Do not connect the MoTeC UTC to the PC until the MoTeC USB drivers have been copied to your PC.
The following installation programs (as well as all future versions of these programs) will copy the MoTeC USB drivers to your PC:
Help! I connected the UTC before the drivers were copied to my PC. See the Troubleshooting section below.
Windows will automatically install the driver. No further intervention should be necessary.
C:\Program Files\MoTeC\Drivers
If the "Copy files from" field does not already contain this path, click the "Browse. " button and navigate to the above path, then click "OK" to close the Browse dialog.
The device may have been connected to the PC before a product that supplies the driver files was installed, now the drivers won't install.
Ensure that the device is powered and working correctly.
Ensure that the device is correctly connected to the PC.
If the device has been connected to the PC before, and the driver installation failed, you may need to manually update the driver for the USB device.
For Windows 95(B), Windows 98, Windows ME :
If the wizard couldn't find the driver files, try updating the driver again. This time select the "Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)" option in the wizard. On the next page, click the "Specify a location" option, and browse to:
C:\Program Files\MoTeC\Drivers
For Windows 2000 and Windows XP :
Select the driver located in:
If Windows 2000 cannot locate the driver files it will display the Found New Hardware Wizard.

In some cases Windows may find more than one matching driver for the device. In this case it will display a dialog asking you to select the driver you would like to use. Select the driver located in:
C:\Program Files\MoTeC\Drivers
A dialog may be displayed warning you that the driver has not passed Windows Logo testing. Click "Continue Anyway" to proceed with the installation.
If the driver does not install correctly, or a matching driver cannot be found, ensure that a product that supplies the driver files is installed correctly.
If Windows XP cannot locate the driver files you will need to tell the Found New Hardware Wizard where they are:
