The City of Placentia welcomes new business enterprises and values the businesses that have made Placentia their home.
Any individual, corporation, sole proprietor, partnership, or entity that wishes to conduct business within the City of Placentia must secure a business license.
For all new commercial and industrial businesses, including change of ownership and sub-lease, you will need to get a Building and Zoning Compliance Application (PDF).
For all new home based businesses, you will need to get a Home Occupation Permit (PDF)
In 2011, the City Council adopted a new ordinance to comply with State law regarding the regulations of massage therapy. At this time, the City accepts the California Massage Therapy Commission certification for therapists and practitioners and requires those fields as well as operators/managers of massage establishments to obtain a City business license.
